Miners in Africa see up to double digit fuel economy improvements on trucks and heavy equipment
Mining Haulage Katanga (MHK), one of the largest mining, trucking and heavy equipment operators in the Democratic Republic of Congo, tested Fuel Ox on two of its tractor-trailer units as well as an excavator, showing fuel economy improvement of between 5.1 percent and 13.3 percent. IAMGOLD Corp, which operates four gold mines on three continents, recently tested Fuel Ox on a water pump used at the Essakane Mine, one of the largest gold mines in the world, in Burkina Faso, reporting fuel efficiency gains of 9.75 percent. And a third major contract miner operating in Ghana saw an average 10 percent improvement in fuel efficiency on two of its rock haulers after adding Fuel Ox to their fuel tanks.
Quality assurance testing firm shows significant emissions reduction on diesel pickup truck
Globally renowned quality assurance firm Intertek recently studied the impact of Fuel Ox on the emissions from a diesel-powered pickup truck operating in the United Arab Emirates and found the additive reduced emissions of nitric oxide by more than 12 percent, total nitrogen oxides by more than 6 percent, and carbon dioxide by 20 percent.
Lab testing reveals difference of Combustion Catalyst on even the cleanest equipment
Operators may see nominal improvement of engine performance with traditional additives because of the detergent properties that help to remove carbon buildup and other impurities. But even on clean equipment in a laboratory environment, testing of Fuel Ox shows the difference its Combustion Catalyst can make. Anglo-American Mining, one of the largest mining company in the world, collaborated with Detroit Chile S.A. to test Fuel Ox on clean generators in the lab in 2019 and saw a nearly 4 percent improvement in fuel efficiency.
Large trucking company sees 6.7 percent improvement in fuel economy after four-month test
Watkins & Shepard Trucking, Missoula, Mont., (since acquired by leading logistics provider Schneider), conducted an extensive test of Fuel Ox on various day cabs and over-the-road tractor trailers in its operations on both the east and west coast between July and November 2015. The company established a baseline fuel consumption from five tanks of fuel, then ran the same equipment with Fuel Ox added to another five tanks, and saw an average 6.7% improvement in fuel efficiency.
Shipping company sees 5.7 percent improvement in fuel economy on container ship
United Arab Shipping Company conducted a trial of Fuel Ox in 2014 on a container ship plying a route between Port Klang, Malaysia, and Shanghai, China. After establishing a baseline fuel consumption during the first 24 hours of the voyage Fuel Ox was added to the tank, leading to a 5.7 percent average reduction in fuel consumption over the ensuing three days of the journey under the same general operating conditions.
Fuel economy, stability and emission reduction in mobile genset
Stamegna, an Italian designer of generator sets (“gensets”) for remote worksites, saw an 8 percent reduction in fuel consumption in a 2014 test of Fuel Ox on one of its diesel engines, as well as a 70% reduction in soot and nitrogen oxide emissions. Improved demulsification and fuel stability also reduced buildup of algae on engine components.
Marine Operator sees improved performance, reduced maintenance on tugboats
McAllister Towing & Transportation operating vessels throughout the U.S. Eastern Seaboard tested Fuel Ox on a 4,000-horsepower twin-engine Z-Drive Tractor Tug over a six-week period. Adding Fuel Ox to one of the vessel’s two diesel tanks, the company saw a nearly 6 percent improvement in fuel efficiency in the engine powered by the treated fuel. In addition, in another part of the company’s operations, Fuel Ox’s reduced soot emissions and blow-by residue by 70 and 95% respectively.
